It’s actually not that hard to make money writing online. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of writing jobs online that are freelance or contract based.
You can even write for an hourly rate if you wanted to. It’s totally up to you on how you want to go about writing, but in my opinion, the best way to do it is to start your own writing company.
Writing from home can seem daunting and one can find it hard to find a writing job. A good place to start is textbroker and get your feet wet. You sign up for free and send in a sample article and then are assigned a level that dictates the highest pay per word you can receive. You don’t have to have any experience.
You have a chance to move up with better writing, since the editors give a level rating to ever article you write and based your level on the last 5 articles you’ve written. If you move up you get more pay per word. Though level 2 work will always have the most articles.
The articles you write are based on the orders clients put in. If they accept your article, then they pay you and then they can post articles to websites, blogs and ezinearticles. Once your are paid, the amount is credited to your account and you can invoice to get it on the 5th and 20th.
There is also hubpages and writer access, they have the same level system as textbroker, but offer higher payouts, but particularly with hubpages require experienced people, while writer access has pay levels similar to real freelance projects.
If you’ve been in the industry awhile, you should look into getting private clients from craiglist and freelance sites. though you will have to have samples that you’ve published online preferably on a website. Until you are at that point, you can build up confidence with the sites above.
