Dogs are great pets to have, and often good for children to play with. What you name a dog will stick with it for as long as you own it.

If you want a nice moniker for your dog, there are a lot of cute dog names out there. There are several different ways to give your dog a cute name.

Names Based on Appearance, Mannerism, and More

If you have a puppy that is all white, you could call him Snow. Or if he is black and white, you could call him Oreo. Use your imagination. If your puppy is always rushing around, call him something that reflects his temperament, like Speedy or Turbo. There are a lot of cute puppy names out there. Give your dog something distinct, that reflects their personality, or how they look.

If you have two puppies, you can always go with the double famous person approach. Such examples would be naming two dogs “Abbot and Costello” or “Louis and Clark” or “Smokey and Bandit”. People will think this is clever, or at the very least, somewhat witty.

What’s In a Name?

Remember, when you name your dog, it will be with them forever. Once your dog becomes aware of its name, it will become almost impossible to change it. Make sure that you are comfortable with the name, as is everybody else in your family. Ideally, the name should be relatively short, and easy to remember, so that giving instructions to your puppy is simple and easy.

Every dog needs a name, and cute dog names can be quite endearing. A name is often cuter if it represents something about the dog, or has some sort of story behind it. A short name that everybody agrees on is almost always a good choice.
