It’s very easy and will only take you fifteen minutes. You’ll need three things: five or six large shells, a four or five foot long strand of outdoor string lights, and an old serving tray or board that you will mount the lights onto when your done. All you have to do is wrap the lights around each shell, being careful to have at least two or three lights inside each shell so they will reflect off the shiny inside when they are turned on. Then just place them on the board or serving tray (you can glue them down or just place them on it) and you’re done. Depending on the color of the inside of the shell, you might want to try different colored lights to create different effects.
- Do you live near the beach or have a friend who does? If so, you can use large shells from the beach (conch shells or clam shells will work the best) to create your own unique set of ocean string lights as a center piece for your outdoor tables. - If you have pathways leading from the front of your home to your garage or backyard and want to add pathway lighting, think about hanging paper lantern string lights from small shepherds hooks alongside the pathway. Because they are paper sided you can use oil paint to paint your own designs or add stripes the same color as your home to make them more unique.
