The Ideal Underground Fence For Dogs

August 10, 2011.

With an underground fence for dogs you can keep your beloved family member safe from harm in a humane way. An underground fence for dogs will give you the peace of mind of knowing that dear animal of yours has the freedom to run, but not run away.

An electric dog fence will keep your dog contained without the cost of unattractive chain link fencing. These dog fences are easy to install and after just a few training sessions, your dog will run but not run away again.

These types of fences are all basically the same; they are constructed of wires that you bury around the perimeter of your yard, and use a radio transmitter and a receiver that your dog wears on his collar. As a visual barrier some of these types of fencing provide flags for easy location, and the correction administered differs dependent on the kind of fence. The corrections may take the form of a mild electrical shock, an unpleasant noise at a less-then-comfortable frequency.

They are less expensive, and easier to install than a regular wooden fence. The landscape or view isn’t obstructed and if you move, you can take it with you. If you rent your home, an underground fencing system will likely cause no problems with your landlord. These underground dog fences offer the safety of containing your family pet, while allowing them the much needed time outside daily.

One downside is that these types of fences only contain the animal with the receiver on. They do not prevent other animals or people from entering your yard to harass your dog. If you experience this sort of thing, you should take matters up with the offender so that is doesn’t happen in the future and you pet can play in their yard freely.
