If you would like to learn how to rent a dump truck for less, here are some of the ways that you can do it. A lot of rental companies charge you for a 24-hour periods.
If you want to use the truck for two days, consider renting the truck in the early afternoon, and having it back before the 24-hour period is over the next day. Another way you can save money on a dump truck is to call a number of different rental companies. Then, you will be able to compare their rates and choose the company that has the lowest rates. A third way to save money on dump truck rentals, is to find out if the company you want to rent from offers any discount for multiple days of rent. If you are renting the equipment for one to two weeks, then your daily charge to rent the equipment should be a lot less. Additionally, you can ask for a discount if you are renting more than one piece of equipment at a time.
Multiple rentals mean that the company has more ways to make money on you. You should not feel guilty asking them to give you a discount, especially if you are paying them a lot of money for the rental. Most companies would be willing to negotiate with you on this, especially when asking for any discount. If, for some reason a bigger company won’t work with you, you’ll have an easier time working with a smaller rental company. In addition, smaller rental companies are typically cheaper, but they also have slightly older equipment. You decide if saving the money is worth it for you or not. Another way to save money is to rent from Lowes or Home Depot a large pickup truck. Sometimes a pick-up truck will be enough to do the job as good as any dump truck, and it will be a lot cheaper for you. Another idea, is to compare the costs of renting a truck, to the cost of hiring a cheap contractor instead. You may find out that it does not cost much more money to hire the contractor with his own dump truck, than it cost you to rent one. If this is the case, you will save a lot of time, and not have to get a COD license by hiring a contractor, instead of renting from a truck rental company.
