Does your work needs you to be working for long period of time in front of a computer? This is the most common cause of pain in the back, neck, shoulder blades and even hands. Sitting for a long time in the same position can put a lot of pressures in your back and other parts of your body.
Below are the most common causes of shoulder blade pain. It is vital that the real cause is identified for it to be properly treated.
Injury. It is too obvious of course if there is an accident and an injury or severe blow in the shoulder blade can result to pain. The level of pain depends on how severe the blow or injury is.
Incorrect Posture. Wrong posture is almost always the culprit when it comes to back pain and even shoulder blade pain. It is important then that you observed the right posture whether you are standing, walking and sitting. If your work needs you to sit for a long period of time, make sure not to stay on one position only but always get up and move around.
Rheumatoid Arthritis. This condition involves damaged in the cartilage that runs along the shoulder joint which is the cause of severe pain in the shoulder blade. This condition is actually a bone related disorder.
Other causes may consist of osteoporosis, Bursitis, osteoarthritis, gallbladder problems and a much serious condition is a heart problem. Most often, it is a sign of heart attack that is why it is vital that you go to your doctor immediately and not ignore any pain.
To rightly diagnose the problem is very important since treatment depends on it. If the pain is due to spinal disc problems then a therapy is a good start like the non-surgical spinal decompression. However, do not undergo one unless you have consulted your doctor.
